Katy ISD cafeterias are filled with rising stars that need a healthy start every day for success. To increase participation in the School Breakfast Program, Katy ISD schools will recognize National School Breakfast Week the week of March 4-8. National School Breakfast Week is a weeklong celebration aimed at increasing awareness of the School Breakfast Program among students and parents.
National School Breakfast Week will promote the benefits of eating a healthy, balanced breakfast. The theme for 2013 is “Be a Star with School Breakfast,” and will highlight how eating a healthy, balanced breakfast and being active helps students shine bright.
Every school day, Katy ISD’s breakfast program offers students the healthy foods they need to get set for a busy school day. Breakfast is offered daily on all Katy ISD campuses for only $1. Every school breakfast served meets federal nutrition standards limiting fat and portion size.
