Katy ISD Destination Imagination Teams Head to State

A total of 21 Katy ISD student teams placed in the Gulf Coast Region Destination Imagination Tournament, with nine teams advancing to the State Tournament in April. Destination Imagination is an educational program where student teams solve open-ended challenges and present their solutions at tournaments. The program encourages students to have fun, take risks, focus, and frame challenges while incorporating STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), the arts, and service learning.

The following Katy ISD Destination Imagination teams are heading to the State Tournament in April:

  • Gone with the Winders, Mayde Creek Elementary
  • Mayde Creek DI-ers, Mayde Creek Elementary

The Destination Imagination State Tournament will be held in Katy at Cinco Ranch High School on April 12, 2013.
